This racism and anti-racism repository is being created by Swansea University for and on behalf of the Welsh Government and the people of Wales. Its primary aim is to make available personal narratives such as the perspectives of individuals who have directly encountered racism in various forms — interpersonal discrimination, institutional racism, structural inequalities, and systemic oppression — as well as academic research in public health, education, criminal justice, and other disciplines.
The future repository will be a free, interactive digital catalogue which can:
- Host academic studies and policy reports, past and present, on lived experiences of racism, anti-racism and race equality.
- Encourage the public to upload their collected and personal lived experiences of racism.
The repository will:
- Help public sector organisations, community members, and the wider public to interact with, access and understand how systemic racialised inequality impacts lives.
- Help policymakers and public health professionals develop better services and policies, directly informed by community expertise.
- Acknowledge and build upon past and ongoing efforts of the Anti-Racist Wales Strategy to inform future policy.
The repository will continue to improve based on requirements and feedback gathered through user research.
Enter your search terms, separated by spaces. For example, racism family finds results containing both words.
Use 'OR' to include results with some but not all of your search terms. For example, racism OR sexism finds results containing either word.
Use double quotes to search for exact phrases. For example, "further education" finds results containing this phrase, but not results containing the two words separately.
Use a minus sign to exclude a term from the search. For example, racism -inquiry finds results containing the word "racism", excluding results with the word "inquiry".
